Methodology

AI visibility you can measure. Decisions you can defend.

AI answers change. Your strategy needs a firmer foundation. IQRush connects carefully designed questions, audience context, and a knowledge graph with statistical measurement—so you can understand where your brand stands, which findings deserve action, and what to improve before you publish.

The challenge

Every movement looks important, but only some deserve an optimization.

Your brand can lead one answer and disappear from the next. That variability makes isolated results easy to misread. A sound methodology helps you distinguish a competitive opportunity from ordinary fluctuation—and decide where your team’s effort will matter.

[01]

Measure the right questions.

The questions you choose shape the results you see. Deliberate coverage of topics, customer intent, and decision needs gives your measurement a stronger foundation.

[02]

Know how much to trust.

A score becomes useful when you understand its precision, the strength of the signal, and how settled the rankings are. That context helps you judge whether a finding can support a decision.

[03]

Make action accountable.

Connect recommendations to the answers behind them. Evaluate content before publishing. Then measure progress against a comparable baseline.

The method

Six steps from better questions to better decisions.

One connected methodology carries the question, intent, audience, and supporting evidence through measurement, recommendations, content, and tracking.

01 · Design

Start with questions that support sound decisions.

Bring your own questions, use real-world search queries to find topics, or let IQRush generate a set. Generated sets balance intent and question types, cut repetition, flag coverage gaps, and avoid wording that leads the answer toward your brand.

02 · Context

Understand how answers change with the audience.

Apply audience and persona context to the same base questions to see how AI answers different customer needs. Because the questions are shared, extra audience views don’t overstate the evidence.

03 · Connect

Know who—and what—the answer means.

Identify the brands, products, retailers, and sources in measured answers, across name variations. Each links to its supporting statements in the knowledge graph, with the question, topic, and audience attached.

04 · Measure

Find the signal. Quantify the uncertainty.

Measure how often your brand appears, how it compares with competitors, and how much confidence the result deserves. Confidence intervals and stability show whether a gap is strong enough to act on.

Track the change. Connect the outcome.

Repeat measurements reuse the stored question set, so a change reflects visibility, not what you asked. Assess the uncertainty around the movement, then connect trends with GA4 traffic, conversions, and ecommerce.

The knowledge graph

Understand your market—and your place in it.

IQRush’s knowledge graph maps the brands, products, retailers, and sources in the AI answers we measure, across industries, categories, topics, and audiences.

See where your brand stands, which competitors appear for different customer needs, and where they’re recommended while you’re missing. Ask the graph questions and check the answers behind them.

Consistent brand identification keeps name variations from distorting the picture, and statistical measurement shows which differences are strong enough to act on.

Mathematical confidence

Know the number. Understand the confidence behind it.

A visibility score tells you what was measured. Confidence intervals and stability help you decide how much weight to give it—and whether to investigate, act, or gather more evidence.

Confidence intervals

How precise is the estimate? A 95% confidence interval makes uncertainty visible. A narrow apparent lead may still be too uncertain to justify shifting budget or rewriting content.

↳ Know how much precision the evidence supports.

Clear differences

Do the leaders actually differ? When two results’ confidence intervals overlap, the gap may be ordinary variation. We show when a difference is distinct enough to guide priorities.

↳ Focus effort where the difference is real.

Stability

How dependable is the ranking? A stability assessment helps you judge how settled the reported positions are within the measurement, so a fragile position doesn’t become the basis for your strategy.

↳ Know how much weight to place on the ranking.

[Tracking that earns your trust]

A change in the score is the start of the question.

When visibility moves, we assess the uncertainty around the difference between comparable measurements. That helps establish whether the evidence supports a change before it becomes the reason for an optimization.

Keeping questions and audience context consistent strengthens that comparison. Changes to the question set or measurement method also need to be considered when interpreting movement.

[Built into the method]

Confidence includes knowing the limits.

Clear distinctions make the evidence more useful—and the decisions more defensible.

Measured and inferred stay distinct.

An observed citation, a content match, and a model’s interpretation answer different questions. Understanding the distinction helps you judge what each finding supports.

Comparison needs consistency.

Track comparable questions, audiences, and measurement methods. A changed sample or counting method can move a score even when the market has not changed.

The sample defines the scope.

Results describe the questions and audiences measured. Balanced question design improves coverage; it does not establish the frequency of every question in real-world demand.

Uncertainty is useful information.

“Not enough evidence yet” can prevent an unnecessary optimization. Knowing when to gather more evidence is part of making a sound decision.

Action

Give your next draft a better starting point.

AgentQ turns your measured questions, intent, audience, and answer evidence into focused technical and content recommendations, each with the evidence behind it.

Write with the agent or on your own, then score drafts against the answer evidence and revise before publishing. Follow-up measurement shows whether the content gets cited.

Spend less effort on avoidable revisions.

Sharper briefs and earlier review mean less wasted content and shorter production cycles.

From a better answer to a clearer business picture.

Publication begins the next measurement. Track visibility against a comparable baseline, then use GA4 to explore how identifiable AI-referred visits relate to engagement, conversions, and ecommerce performance.

Visibility movement

Revisit the questions relevant to your content. Assess whether visibility has changed beyond expected variation and examine the answers behind that movement.

[02]

[03]

Commerce outcomes

Where GA4 ecommerce data is available, examine product journeys, purchases, and revenue alongside those traffic and visibility patterns.

FAQ

Yes. Bring your own written questions to preserve the wording you want measured, or let IQRush generate a balanced set from your chosen topics. You can also upload real-world search queries, including Google Search Console exports, to identify relevant topics. IQRush then generates measurement questions from the topics you select. Every path includes a review of the question set. Your own questions are assessed for coverage and balance; they are not automatically balanced by generation.

It starts with relevant questions and consistent audience context, followed by careful identification of the brands and sources in the answers. Statistical measurement then makes the precision and stability of the findings clearer. Together, these help you judge whether a comparison supports a decision and examine the evidence behind a recommendation. A balanced question set is the starting point; the measured results determine what conclusions it supports.

It shows the uncertainty around an estimate under the measurement’s assumptions. Across repeated samples, intervals produced by this method are designed to contain the underlying value 95% of the time. For a marketer, the practical benefit is understanding how precise a result is before acting on it. It is not a guarantee about what an AI engine will say next.

The evidence needs to support the reason for the recommendation. An optimization prompted by a visibility change needs evidence that the movement is distinguishable from expected variation. Other opportunities can emerge from recurring answer patterns, content gaps, relevant sources, and customer needs your brand can address. Each recommendation should explain the finding and why the proposed action follows from it.

The score assesses how well your draft covers the measured questions and supporting answer evidence. It helps identify gaps and guide revisions before publication. It is not a calibrated probability of citation, and no score guarantees what an answer engine will cite. Follow-up measurement shows whether citations and visibility actually change.

GA4 connects identifiable AI-referred traffic with your configured conversion and ecommerce events. Reviewing those outcomes alongside visibility changes helps you understand patterns in discovery, engagement, and purchasing. That provides a basis for investigation and optimization. It does not establish an exact question-to-purchase path or prove that one content change caused the revenue.
